INDOOR FLYING

Indoor flying session at Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space
Flying time will be from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Sessions will be held on the fourth Sunday of each month.


Located at 7711 E. Academy Blvd. in the former Lowry AFB on the east side of
Denver, Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum is housed in the 30,000
sq. ft. World War II-era Hangar No. 1.

From Quebec Street: turn east on 1st Ave., go .25 miles and turn right onto
Roslyn Street. Roslyn then curves around to the left and becomes Academy
Blvd. You will see the B-52 on the left side of the road!

General Admission:
Adults (13 - 64)  $6.00
Seniors (65 and over) $5.00
Children (6 - 12) $4.00
              under 5 Free with Adult

The following conditions will apply:
Free-flight only - No R/C
Maximum weight of  model shall not exceed 1 ounce (28.35 grams).
Flyers will provide their own tables and chairs.
CLIMBING ON EXHIBITS IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED!
Retrieval shall be accomplished by careful use of poles, balloons or air
cannons.
The Museum will be open to the general public.

CLUB FLYING FIELD AMENITIES:

The MILE-HI field is a first class flying facility. It has two asphalt-paved runways. The

North-South runway is 350 feet long and 30 feet wide. The East-West runway is 450 feet

long and 40 feet wide. A covered transmitter impound board is available for safe keeping

of radios. Sheltered pilot and picnic areas provide plenty of shade. For safety reasons a

designated engine start up area has been provided at the entrance of the two runways. A

paved pit area with numerous workbenches is available to make setting up your airplane

as easy as possible. Designated parking and camping space surrounds the fenced flying

site. A portable toilet is located at the field.

The dates for the Fourth Annual VR/CS & OT Reunion in Arvada, Colorado have been set for August 9 & 10, 2008.

SKY CORRAL IS LOCATED WEST OF PUEBLO AT PUEBLO WEST    

 

Take highway 50 west of Pueblo from I-25.  When you arrive in Pueblo West at Purcell blvd.(THE SAFEWAY STORE IS ON THE RIGHT AT PURCELL), turn left (south) on Purcell and continue about 1.2 miles to Woodleaf street.  Turn left (east) on Woodleaf and continue to the end and turn right.  There is a gate (open) which you will pass through and continue to the field parking area.

 

IF YOU ARE COMING SOUTH ON I 25 YOU CAN TURN WEST ON PURCELL BLVD EXIT 108 AND FOLLOW PURCELL THROUGH PUEBLO WEST (SEVERAL  MILES) UNTIL YOU CROSS US 50 AT THE STOP LIGHT BY SAFEWAY.  AFTER YOU CROSS US 50 CONTUNUE ON PURCELL FOR ABOUT 1.2 MILES AND CONTINUE AS ABOVE.

 

THE COLORADO STATE FAIR BEGINS THIS WEEKEND AND RUNS THROUGH LABOR DAY AND MOST OF THE MOTELS ETC WILL FILL UP RAPIDLY.  MAKE YOUR RESERVATIONS NOW.  IF YOU HAVE PROBLEMS CALL AL OR LARRY AT THE NUMBERS ABOVE FOR ASSISTANCE.
